This paper was presented at the Korea DMZ Council’s 4th International Academic Conference “The 60th Anniversary of the Korean War Armistice and the Demilitarized Zone: Past, Present and Future.” It explores recent developments on the Korean Peninsula as well as outlines confidence-building measures to improve trust between the different parties.
