Ms. Maria Hellborg began her internship at ISDP in February 2016. She holds a MA in International Law from Uppsala University, Sweden, and is currently in her third year course of Caucasus Studies at Malmö University, Sweden. She has also studied military history at the Swedish Defence University and Russian language courses in St Petersburg and Arkhangelsk, Russia. Ms. Hellborg has previous experience from internships at the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs and at a Swedish NGO specialised in matters concerning democracy and development in Russia and Belarus. Her research interests focus on the intersections between international law and international politics, with a focus on Russia, Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and the EU. At ISDP, Maria was affiliated with the Institute’s Silk Road Studies Program.
