Jagannath Panda in Sansad TV on UN and Global Terrorism

August 11, 2022: Jagannath Panda, Head of the Stockholm Center for South Asian and Indo-Pacific Affairs, participated in Sansad TV’s ‘Perspective’ and discussed the topic “UN and Global Terrorism”.

The background of that topic is that India has once again reiterated that there should be no double standards In dealing with terrorists. At a recent meeting of the UN Security Council, India’s Permanent Representative to the UN Ambassador Ruchira Kamboj said that the practice of placing holds and blocks on listing requests without giving any justification must end. As the Chair of the Counter-Terrorism Committee India will be hosting a Special session in Mumbai and Delhi on 28-29 October this year, highlighting the nature of this threat, member states’ capacity gaps and best practices, and exploring further course of action to effectively deal with this threat.
